Materials

11/64” F

Scraps of 11/64” or 1/4” Color

 Stakes:

Cut 1/2” F  -  14 @ 20”  Mark the centers on the wrong side.

Fillers: 

Cut 1/2” F  -  6 @ 12”  Mark the centers on the smooth side.

Lay 7 stakes horizontally with the rough side up and 1 filler between each with the smooth side up.  Weave a stake vertically across the centers going under the stakes and over the fillers.  Weave 3 on each side of the center.  Pack the horizontal stakes tight together.  Adjust the vertical stake to measure 6 1/2”.  Tuck the fillers to the bottom of the base.  Twine 2 rows with #2 Rd.  Upset stakes.

 Weave 11 rows of 3/8” F. 

 Cut off the inside stakes and tuck the outside stakes.  Insert the handle on the center stake of opposite sides. 

 Rim with 1/2” FO on the inside & outside.  Add #6 Rd for the rim filler.  Double lash with 11/64” F

 Using the scrap pieces of color add the X’s randomly to the sides of the basket.
