1/4” F #3 Rd 3/8” F #6 Rd 1/2” F 5/8” FO 28” - 5/8” Shaker Tape or desired length Stakes: Cut 5/8” F - 14 @ 32” Mark the centers on the rough side. Fillers: Cut 3/8” F - 6 @ 14” Mark the centers on the smooth side. Lay 7 stakes horizontally with the centers in a straight line. Lay the fillers horizontally, one between each stake, with the centers in line with the stakes. Weave a vertical stake across the centers going under the stakes and over the fillers. Weave 3 more on each side. Pack the horizontal stakes and adjust the vertical stakes to measure 7”. Flip the base over and tuck the fillers under the third stake from each side. Flip the base back over and twine 2 rows with #3 Rd. Upset the stakes. Weave the following rows: 3 - 1/2” F 3 - 1/2” F Dyed 12 - 1/2” F 1 - 3/8” F (Rim row) Cut off the inside stakes and tuck the outside stakes. Handles: Choose a stake that the weaver is on the outside. Bring the end of the shaker tape up between the stake and the weaver. Bring the end over the weaver and down so the end of the shaker tape is even with the bottom of the rim row. It is a good idea to put a little glue between the shaker tape and the reed. Repeat this with the other end of the shaker tape, skipping 3 stakes. Repeat on the other side of the basket with the other piece of shaker tape. Let the handles hang down. Rim with 5/8” FO on the inside and the outside. Add #6 Rd for the rim filler.
