Materials: 1/4” F 3/8” F 1/2” F Dyed 5/8” F #3 Rd #6 Rd 5/8” FO 12” x 10” D Handle Stakes: Cut 5/8” F—11 @ 24” Mark the centers on the wrong sides and on 5 pieces mark 2” on each side of the center. Stake Overlays: Cut 1/2” F Dyed 12 @ 5” Using the handle standing on the table place the center marks of the 5 stakes with 3 marks on the center of the handle in a starburst shape. Begin twining with the #3 Rd on the 2” marks. After the first round of twining, adjust the shape. Continue twining for 11. Add the remaining 6 stakes and continue twining to the edge of the handle. Upset the stakes. Weave 6 rows of 3/8” F with the first row on the outside of the handle. After the third row add the overlays on every other stake beginning on the handle. Weave 1 row of 1/2” F Dyed. This row should be on the outside of the stakes with the overlays. Weave 2 rows of 3/8” F. Cut and tuck. Rim with 5/8” FO on the inside and the outside. Use #6 Rd for the rim filler. Double lash with 1/4” F. Enjoy!!!!! Copyright 1/03 |
